    Maybe, or someone who knew the sitter very well added the info to remember where and by whom it was painted?

    ok.....then why write miniature..? and leave out the date..?
    I'm not buyin that the sitter wrote that....:sorry:

    Ok, it does not make much sense to write "miniature" on a miniature, no matter who wrote it, but obviously the person who wrote it had some info about the painting he wanted to preserve.
