Another thing just sitting on the old pool table in MIL's basement. Obviously needs to get cleaned up. I'm not sure that's a task I could handle. But do you still get good value for it in this condition? MIL and her husband back then would buy and restore things, so I'm not sure if that was on the restoration block for them and/or how far into it they were. There's another one in there too but I didn't snap a pic. The iron leg in the picture is from a drafting table I brought with us and we're going to try to clean.

(Edit: trying to upload the pics from my iPhone and they're too large. I'll try from my computer later)

There should be a plate somewhere on or in it with the seriel number on.
Yours looks to have some parts missing, covers on the outside.
It is a little different from the one I had.
    Mine weighed 160 pounds.

Oh wow. Yes, it looks like it's missing some mechanics on the left side in the picture. There's so much other stuff on that table right now, that I'm thinking the parts are under the rest of the stuff. Hoping it's all there once I un-bury it.

Take the drawer out and look at the bottom. I have one from 1921 and the original paperwork is there

I've seen a number of National Cash Registers at auction since I'm not too far from Dayton, OH. There are a large range of models from utilitarian to very heavily decorated. The opening poster's NCR appears to be a fairly high-end model with quite a few bells and whistles. I'd think it would have a good amount of value if sold at a decent antique auction.

Friend of mine made a fortune converting these to decimal coinage in the UK.
