Featured Small dish mark Sterling H

It’s hard to tell because of tarnish but on the Repousse bowl it might be an anchor for Birmingham. You might find more marks if it’s cleaned. Also the same for the clothes brush.

 

Sure does look like an anchor on it's side....but what's with the $ sign for the initial 'S' ???? Pretty pieces, @i need help!!!

 

If it is an anchor, it isn't a Birmingham anchor.

 

Not any kind of British mark. I'd think Newark, NJ manufacturer Hayden Mfg. - the type of item they made...

I found one like it with a clearer mark, they say it says 604 but don't say the maker.

Here is another (in need of a clean) that I think is the same but the mark photo isn't clear. They describe it as an arm with a hammer.

Maker's marks usually had a good number of variants - for years, the '-H' mark without the arm and hammer has been IDed by match safe collectors as belonging to Hayden Mfg.
