Got a bunch of Wedgewood my mom collected back in the 80's buying mostly from Hecht's I wanna start liquidating her stuff, and have no knowledge on any of her stuff other than she bought to much, and it was more important than me.

Check what things sell for on eBay. Check jasperware and jasper ware. Wedgwood - no second 'e'.

If it's recent, then very very little, sadly. I can pick it up for under a dollar a piece.

Wedgwood made a ton of "collectible" pieces, and one of my "Rules" is: "Collectibles" aren't.

I have no idea what Hetch's is. Is that a retail store?
Did she buy only new items from the 80s? or are there items she bought as used either from antique stores or estate sales?

    Welcome to our forum!! :happy::happy::happy:

Looks like it was a department store.

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hecht's

I pass right by blue, but some the other colors do okay if you can get them cheap enough.

If you happen to have a black cigarette holder you have a waiting buyer right here on the forum. ;):D:D

If you happen to have a local auction house or one of the consignment shops close by you may be able to sell the pieces that way. I'm not sure you would get anymore that way, but it would be easier that listin it oon ebay.

If you do list it on ebay, or any of the other on-line sites I would suggest you sell several pieces at a time.

Cluttered, it was a very nice department store that started before 1900 in Washington, DC. Actually, it was The Hecht Company, but folks called it Hecht's.

It eventually became a chain, moving out thru the DC & Baltimore suburbs. All gone now for more than 10 years...

After reading the wiki that Peggy posted, it appears it was very similar to our Macy's. And I see that Macy's eventually ended up absorbing them.

Federated was the downfall of many of the good stores. They were awful to work for.

Do you have children, grandchildren, nieces, nephews? You might ask them first if there is anything they might like. It is surprising what they remember and associate with certain people.

There is a Facebook page called British Pottery and Porcelain. They talk about Wedgwood a lot. You should check it out and scroll through to see if any of your pieces are there. Mass produced items sold in department stores are often not worth as much as you'd like, but if there were a couple of items that are harder to find, it will make a difference.

    Very true.
I have a store, and I tend to sell the lighter blue pieces in the $20-30 range. Depending on what it is. A few pieces for more. There are still a lot of ladies who will buy it.

Maybe you could post a picture of some of the items.
Might do ok with an estate/garage sale.

...for used toilet paper? I'm betting that's easier to find than Wedgwood, although these days it might be worth more.
