Featured Ring- Hallmark help please

Very worn... but the one on the left seems to have the outline of the crab mark

 

Thanks for looking . Is that mark still in use?

 

Stopped in 2009, from google wasn’t aware of that as my buys are older

 

Even INVERTED, I (Just my opinion!!) still think it says 'sta' but I am one of several, so go with your gut and what works best for YOU!!!

I think this maker will remain a mystery for the moment!

 

Kyra should certainly be trusted - it is 'Ste' for 'Société', and not at all uncommon in French maker's marks (perhaps the symbols are an olive and leaf?) Had no luck identifying it either, but would guess fairly modern, and it looks like the crab mark (minimum .800 fineness) to me too.

Thanks for looking @DragonflyWink that's interesting to know about Ste, another nugget of information. Not sure I would want to buy my jewellery from a company called 'LessQual'!.
