VeryBrad, thank you so much for not being terribly offended by my "observation."

 

I don't have cable or satellite (yes, I live in the Dark Ages) and watch those secondary channels all of the over air stations now have. Several of those show old tv shows. I thoroughly enjoyed watching Night Court again on MeTV.

 

WKRP was one of my all-time faves. Great cast, great writing. Also liked Night Court very much. I have to say that I don't watch any sitcoms now. Did watch the Big Bang for a while, but I think it is past it's "sell by" date. Netflix is getting more of my TV watching attention these days.

Wrote the above before seeing your second post. Do you know if the one for $102.50 had the cone? I assume the factory sealed one did.

The $102.50 was sold back in June & from the gallery photo looked complete. The factory sealed one no longer had a gallery photo available, but since it was "factory sealed w/ instructions" I would think it was complete. The other 3 were all missing their cones.

here are a few goodies that I picked up - ship binnacle, coffee grinder, 2 ceramic pieces of fruit, I love the eyes on them, sterling BABY pin, 30 cross cut saw blades, Astatic microphone, large cement celtic cross, large wood bowl and the photo - very creepy eyes on this one.

Some good stuff cxgirl. The cat on the bowl is Peruvian/Nazca from a pre-Columbian textile if my memory serves me.

I find the baby pin funny. Don't see the need to label your baby. Everyone could see it was a baby.

 

Those mikes sell easily, all day, if you're selling. The photo makes me think the sitter is blind.

 

thanks brad lol, my thoughts exactly on the baby pin but someone liked it as it sold on my store site within 24hrs for $75US.

It's not silver, which I'd have thought a fob ought to be? I dunno: I might wave it under the Museum of London's nose. I really like it.

 

What does the back of the token look like? The button has mark of MC ? and the 2 pieces don't look like they belong to each other. The date on the token looks "faked", it wasn't done by the engraver who did the name.

 

Good lord, your eyes are good. I've looked again - the button says NG Silver. I suspect that's the remains of STERLING, given where the loop is. I think it started as a cufflink end.

I agree they aren't related, that was my thought too. The dog tag, for want of a better word, is certainly base metal and corroded as heck. Back is blank.

The script for the name looks late 18th - if you look at it under a loupe, the depth and strokes are the same as the date.

 

Any good engraver can copy script styles,but the date looks like it was done with a rusty nail and by an amateur.

 

Got this - engraving / block ...thing at the thrift store today for a buck. Not quite sure what scene I'm looking at here... an audience in chairs looking up at a stage with someone speaking?
