Thoughts on Heraldic design on enamel pendant/ brooch

Hi everyone,

I have this brooch which also has a loop to make it into a pendant, however I am unsure of what the enamel Heraldic design on it represents, any thoughts? I think I saw somewhere else on here that some 1960's pieces were just generic heraldic designs as they were popular, is this what this?

The face on it has more of a cartoonish type effect....so you may be right.....wait for others to check in with their opinions......I enlarged it a bit, that's all....

 

I believe it is meant to be the helmet from a suit of armor. Looks like Pegasus up top, or at least a winged horse.

 

I totally understand what you're saying @Bronwen, but I'M just not seeing a 'serious' helmet.....

 

Once you had said the thing about the face, I couldn't help seeing the Pillsbury Dough Boy.

This looks like a souvenir to me, so maybe the arms of a place.

 

That is indeed a serious helmet and mine kind of looks a bit smiley when I look at it again, although a souvenir may well be a good shout too. Thanks everyone.

Did you want to sell it on the internet? If so, I wouldn’t put anymore time into it as I agree it’s a commercial piece and would just list it as

That’ll give you plenty of keywords.

 

Thank you reader; yes, I bought it in a large job lot and I am keeping the pieces I want from it and this isn't really something that I would wear so I was planning to pass this piece on to a new home who would appreciate it better!
