    hello and happy spring!

found this bracelet and i have no clue what metal it is or if the amber stones are real.
it looks like it's marked '926' or '906' on the catch ring..it's marked on the lobster claw too but danged if i can make it out.

i do have acids and a stone but inconclusive on gold and silver (i suck at testing metals)
    maybe it's just pot metal...i don't know

here's some pics...any help is greatly appreciated

Modern with small amber pieces probably made in Poland - much of this is.

Since it is amber my mind was on the Baltic (very choppy now) and I read it as Polish (from Poland).
It does to me as well, and is likely to be Polish;). Seriously, a lot of Polish jewellery is Art Nouveau inspired. I see Obb has posted something on that as well, while my mind was on the Baltic.

i immediately thought of Poland...i'm 100% Polish descent...in the 80's my mom and aunt went to visit relatives near warsaw and they smuggled (gasp!) some amber jewelry in their socks and underwear...not a lot...just a few pieces. at that time soviet guards were at the airport and they were a bit nervous.

In the early 70s, a Polish school friend financed trips back to the old country by taking a suitcase full of clothes and selling them there. They had money, but nothing to spend it on, much like East Germany.

    Hi,
I did the same thing only in Russia in the 60s, sold all my clothes so I came home with nothing but a lot of money. Where they got all the USA money I do not want to know.

When the wall came down, a bunch of Russian pilots came over to a UK airshow. They sold almost everything they were wearing for hard currency. Once they got down to underwear, the Plod took them politely to the local nick and lent them some stuff. ;)

I went to an East German airshow in 1991 - you would not believe the stuff I bought. Dollars, marks and pounds were very acceptable.
