    Nope, I’ve gone over it several times thoroughly with a loupe, no marks or evidence of.

    I did not see this at the time, & did not notice it's a revival, not a new thread. Was ready to put in my 2 cents, pretty much agreeing with others: coral; sometime a little this side of 1900; & needing to be tested as I was going to predict you would find it is a decent quality of gold. I rarely see such a sturdy, elaborate C clasp on a piece that is not of high quality. Think maybe some better jewellers continued using versions of the C clasp in preference to those fiddly little safety clasps that came on the market during the Edwardian period & are completely unreliable & inadequate for heavier pieces.
