It looks wonderful!!!! Reminds me of needlepointing 10 dining room chairs back in the 1960s. I was doing a lot of flying and was not able to read so I did needle point. You are certainly a wonderful sewer.

Thanks Greg, Of course the best part the beadwork was done by some lady back in Victorian times, I always wonder why some pieces were never finished, lost interest or maybe she died.

 

@Poisonivy - The bell pull is absolutely gorgeous!!!

I use to do needlepoint & I can't wait till Christmas when I get to hang my son's stockings I did for them about 35 years ago. They were "found" a couple of months ago during the urban renewal that happened in my garage.

Can we see a close-up of the work & do you still have the before photos? I know I probably saw them but can't recall for sure.

We have certainly had lots of wonderful finds over the past 2 years & 4 months.

I haven't posted because we have nothing going on in NJ. We are just starting phase 2 of reopening. I did go to an appointment only estate sale yesterday (another Twilight Zone experience. The lady said the sale started yesterday, but no, she let people in all weekend, so the jewelry in the pictures I wanted was long gone (but I wouldn't know that until I got there). She wouldn't tell me what was sold or available over the phone. She wouldn't give me prices over the phone. So I drove approximately 80 minutes up the parkway because I was bored.

She was a talker and followed me everywhere, not caring to social distance. I kept trying to get away from her. She tried to sell me everything. We both were masked up, and she told me she was deathly afraid of falling ill. Anyway, I found a couple of $5 trinkets, and was ready to leave, but I saw clumps of bead necklaces hanging from a hutch, so I took them down and went through them.

I will show you what I got. I did get some linens (need to photograph) and some glass beads. modern, not worth showing.

The fishing lure pendant was $6. I really love it because my dad loved fishing. I went to research it, I saw two others on the internet, one on ebay sold. The findings appear to be soldered such, and I need to test the metal content. The one on ebay was 14k.



All the beads were $5 a strand. Even though this is broken, I made it into a lariat necklace. Old cut glass knotted flapper strand.


These orange faceted encapsulated beads are a long strand, around 36".


I didn't see anything special about these, but when I got home, I noticed the clasp was marked 10k. I tested the stones with my Presidium and did some research, it appears to be citrine and quartz, Art Deco period.

And these. I will be posting these on the jewelry thread because they are somewhat of an anomaly. I saw them and almost died. One of my Holy Grail jewelry items (possible), a strand of pool of lights. 30" long, 20 orbs, but not sterling, some kind of base metal. Presidium reports quartz, but not showing images upside down. I still love them, especially for $5.
