Found some jasperware today, but no basalt and all overpriced. Next week is a full on antiques show at a more or less local church. Greg has me keeping my eyes peeled. Today I blew $70 on some bits not in the picture, and the cinnabar plate (about 6"), ivory cross, Mexican sterling bracelet, sterling and pearl bar pin, black and silver pendant (unknown silver content), key fob, Miracle brand pin, and tacky green leaf pin. I'm trying to run down the name on the bracelet; it has a pre-1948 mark and weighs a ton. DSCF4330.JPG

It's not a massive thing here, but that one is pretty enough to sell for more than the peanuts I paid for it. ;)

If you weren't such a value to "us" or if I weren't a gentleman (debatable) I'd come to dislike you for that! Nice find, as they are wont to say here............

I was a bit pleased, especially as it's clearly marked 925 and the seller should have known better!

I'm betting that pin/tip/ash tray wasn't much more. I love a good score!

The wee tray - which I suspect is mid 19th - was about two dollars. The Limoges brooch - which is signed silver - a bit over three. ;)

I also got some new birthday cards for about 20 cents a piece and a rather fetching sweater!

Bear, I love the Limoges brooch! Evelyb, I have been jonesing for the antique shows and flea markets to start back up here....I did have some recent luck in a couple of antique malls, behind on my photos. I have my calendar marked for upcoming April and May events.....I really don't have much luck at estate sales here, I do better at finding mistakes at antique shows and malls.

This I got at an antique show... I googled, and this the initials stand for American Society of Mechanical Engineers. Not sure of metal content.

I got these baroque pearl screw baroque screwbacks.jpg backs at the last antique show, too, they have a mark I cannot read, I believe they are 14k.... my testing skills are not there yet.

One more.... I picked this GF cameo necklace at a thrift shop. The scalloped concave shells held faux pearls, which were gunked up with verdigris. I am slowly working on getting rid of all traces of the greenies, but am using Q-tips and silver polish to do it so I don't damage the metal. I love cameos, but I prefer ones with pretty faces. :)
