Featured Strange blade - spear point?

Found during my attic excavation. None of us remembers it or knows what it's supposed to be. Looks like it had a handle attached once upon a time. The blade is 2" long. Looks like stainless steel.

But we're probably way off base....looks like it probably had a wood handle? Even if it sure would hold an ear of corn & keep your hand clean, need two though!!!! Does look/appear to be home made?

 

oyster shucker.........missing handle...

 

I should have put this in to help show scale. I have oyster knives. Not even close. Rather large for a corn cob holder, too!

Well, shucks is right. I have an oyster shucker that looks nothing like that and the ones I've seen at the Wellfleet Oyster Fest look like mine. Not much use without the handle and I don't shuck oysters any more. Too many scars.

The reason the end is rusted is the handle was soaked in water, the serrated tang was pushed into the wet handle then dried creating a pretty good "set"

Well if ya wanna get rid of it send me what you want plus shipping and I'll gladly make a handle and put it back in use. Although last time I got a bag of oysters I had a bad one and shit like a goose for 10 days and lost 10 pounds - but totally my fault. At least now I know a bad oyster when I see one - LOL!

Behold...I opened another tool box and there was this handle that looked perfect and it was. It's got a small crack and it's loose, but here's the complete thing. PM me with your address and it's yours for postage.
