I got this desk this afternoon, been looking at the brass label inside the drawer to try and figure out the maker, now I'm tired and almost out of fuel.
Can someone tell me the maker, if not the possible era.

    Thank You

Possibly 1920s. I'd call it a library table rather than a desk.

    Ummm...Mr.D , just an observation....
that table looks like it was in a fight and got beat up...and someone tried to glue it back together....& added a new drawer pull, which is not original to that table.

Funny - we had one - IN the library, that was used as a library table, but was CALLED a writing table - for those in the family who did not have a "personal" desk but had to write a letter or note............

I also took religious instruction on Saturday afternoons from a vicar while seated at it for some a few years..................apparently THAT was time wasted - both his and mine....................

    GaleriaGila Hola, y'all!

So are we thinking "JT Co" as the maker? "J Co" with an anchor design?

Teens-20s . To confuse things further, I would call this a writing table. ..... :) I think of a library table as having a shelf. A desk is usually more substantial with some kind of under-structure that does not obstruct sitting and may or may not have drawers.

Mansons2005, that would have been fun back in the 20's I think. I love old stuff.
