Yesterday I posted this question in the Introduction forum and lacked adequate photos. Try again as I learn.

I keep forgetting about users that rely on their phones mostly. I have definitely spoiled myself regarding technology. I will do a more user friendly post in the future.

Odd that I see dovetails but then the drawer doesn't have them.
Pretty much sure that this isn't old then. Maybe 70s.
Hang on for Brad, Johnny and others. :)

I definitely think the drawer has dovetails.....just extremely difficult to see.....please look closely at the drawer again.....I enhanced your drawer picture to show what I'm seeing, if you don't mind...........the staining kind of hides the dovetailing.......

A friend took the photos for me. I am also selling a nice a dining set and doing the research. The dining set was definitely manufactured later. Perhaps the drawer photo with dove tails came from the cabinet in that set. A-America dining set.
Yes I see what you are noting. Thank you.

I see them now; the bottom one especially is visible.

So the dove tails would indicate that the piece was made in the 70s according to another post? Is there a way to identify more about the piece?

This is a 20s-30s dining room hutch. So-called traditional revival style that borrows from various eras indiscriminately. Oak and likely English in origin.

This was very helpful. Would you consider it Jacobean?

No, as I said above, So-called traditional revival style. Your cabinet has elements from various styles and the carving style, for the most part, is modern It is a mish-mash, as was common from this period.

Yeah - noticed older wood construction practices but newer brass hinges and wood screws.

How would I price something like this and describe it?

Circa 1930 English oak double blind cabinet/hutch. Value really will depend on location and selling venue. The moisture damage to the lower back is also bit of an issue.

For example, I could see this being listed on Craigslist for $150.00 or best offer here in my semi-rural Midwest location. At auction, this would probably bring less than $100.00. You might do better in larger cities or other locations. Could see this priced as high as $300.00 at retail but think it would be difficult to get unless painted..... not that I would advocate painting this.
