Featured 19th century Haida silver bracelet, just for interest

Hi all,

Just posting this for anyone with an interest in Haida and Tlingit art. I found it recently as an unknown item at an auction here in the UK. I suspected what it was so bought it and have since had it confirmed by an expert. A rare mid 19th century Haida silver bracelet, decorated in European style rather than the Haida traditional line form. Gorgeous and rare so I thought i'd share

There were many artists making silver for the tourist trade.....I'd be more interested in who bought it & how it made it's way back to the UK !!

The bottom half of a large late 1800's Argillite totem pole was once found in a small english town, being used as a door stop .......
I've seen many interesting Haida items show up in the UK.......140 years later !!

 

My profile pic is an 1880s argillite carving I found over here while hunting one day. I greatly admire the artwork so always keep an eye open for examples but it's a real pleasure to find the older pieces.
