    Hi All
I acquired a cute pottery bedside lamp.It depicts a motif of a ship with a cross. It is designed baseless with only a covering. No mark on it.Any ideas?
    thanks!

    Hi,
The Nina and the Pinta perhaps did not the the large cross which was on the flag ship?

If you're going to depict one of them which one?
    See.
    -
Could be there were three lamps or maybe just another with the two 'minor' ships on it.

Definitely not portraying The Nina because she was a lateen rigged caravel. Lateen rigged had triangle sails, not square sails. The Pinta and Santa Maria were squared rigged. Just a bit of trivial that someday might be a Jeopardy question.

Why can't it just be a Spanish Galleon?

La Pinta (the prostitue) not her real name, the sailors nicknamed her, the Santa Clara nicknamed the Nina after her owner Nino and the Santa Maria .. bless the History channel.
