For the price of postage only, a ca. 4 1/4" long, metal extractor marked G. & J.W. Hawksley. Also giving away with it a 90-page photocopy of the 1889 Hawksley catalog in which this item appears--and is identified as a "Gun Metal Pin-Fire Extractor" (whatever in the world that is). Shipped from NJ (USA) by whatever way you prefer.
I agree with both your points. I bought it at a house sale many years ago, because I thought it was cool, too. What is cool to me now is ridding myself of too much flotsam and jetsam here.
Yeah, I know the feeling. My house is neat and I'm not a hoarder...but when you have three china cabinets, two display cases and cupboards full of glass and china you may be a fanatic. I have lots of little items like this, too. My parents had a second hand store and my mother was a packrat so I inherited the gene.
That is most likely what I had in mind when I bought it many years ago, but I don't sell online--or anywhere--anymore. I would just be happy now to have it give some benefit to someone else.
LOL - I resemble that remark. Glad to see I'm not the only one!! (Don't wan't to hijack this page but I thought that was funny) And just in case I get more china cabinets I have a "few" boxes of glass items I can stock them up with..........
Like AF's shed, I have an attic and a storage unit packed with boxes instead of a shed. If I ever find it, I'll offer it up!!
@Rayo56 So glad to see someone else collects dust. I have a huge collection of it as well, with quite a bit of glass and knick knacks spread in between.
From dust you have come and dust you shall collect? No, that's not right.... Accurate, but not right.
