Featured WWI Cruiser photo? US Navy?

    agree, many ships were reworked and refitted throughout their life. I think Florida is the closest; tho' both are considered Florida class.

    Probably close enough for government work. Or Navy work in this case.

    Not so much in the Navy that I recall. At least not for lunch. :)

    Big juice is correct (Kool Aid) and I think we had that around constantly.
    Sandwiches for lunch and more but it is possible that I first called them sandbitches and other guys aboard then did as well. I'm not certain.

    They were that good, or just so constant you were sick of them after a while. The bug juice doesn't surprise me. Low cost and easy to store, with complementary carcinogenic food color no doubt.

    Bug juice at my first summer camp in the 50's consisted of a combination of juices that defies description. It did have flecks of citrus flesh in it, but didn't taste like it at all. Yuck! :vomit:
