I worked on his Hot Wheels Cuda #1 when, the late, :( Slammin' Sammy Miller (The rocket man) from Wayne, NJ bought it.
TIME OF MY LIFE!!!! :) OMG!!!!
    ~
That's HW Cuda #2 on the original hauler. #1 was mostly destroyed in a fire after Sammy sold it.

Not the best photo as a tiny Japanese man offered to take a photo for me and I started to look up right then. :p

Say now, Red October is just collecting dust at your place, I'll be generous and store this book for you free of charge for the next decade or so. Could you send it to me by the 22nd of the month? It would make a lovely birthday gift to DH. He is/was a great fan of Clancy. He moped around the house for a couple of days on hearing of his death.

I really can't say how many notable autographs are around the house. There are a variety of pics and albums from the 1950s to a few years ago of shows we have attended. Do have a few reference books autographed like the transferware series by Petra Williams. Everytime a new John Grisham book comes out, our daughter gets it signed by John Grisham down at the Square Books store in Oxford, MS (Ole Miss) and gives it to DH as a Xmas or birthday gift. She has known him since the 1980s. A girl friend of hers used to babysit for him occasionally. He has a home in Oxford, but now only spends very little time there. His main home is in Virginia. He grew up in the town next to ours (believe he was born in Arkansas). My only claim to fame is that we once had the same painter as his parents used. The painter had me call Grisham's mother for a reference. His parents on retiring moved to Mountain View, AR. His father died recently.

Ah..well. SO kind you are! I'm touched....
    But not THAT 'touched'. ;)

I sympathize. I was not the same for some days either. :(
    What a loss. :(
    Still can't believe he's gone. :(
I should write his family if I can figure out how to do so.

Can you tell if Jackie's is by Autopen or not?

I have been trying to find out and I have come to the conclusion that it is not by an autopen but it may been by a secretary, If it is an authentic Jackie Kennedy Signature it would be a very high quality piece. Search Google for Jackie Kennedy Autograph, you will see that she did not have neat handwriting, even though this autograph matches others of hers it looks far neater than any other autograph of hers I could find (I talked to someone who specialises in authentification of autographs and he said it looked real to him, he would've charged me for any affirmative answer).

Not sure where it is at the moment, its my dads, but the only one we have that I can think of is an autographed copy of Fifty to Forever by Hugh Downs.

The best autographed item I have ever sold was a signed Patsy Cline album. Unfortunately it was not mine so all I got was a commission :(, but the consignor was extremely pleased.

Funny thing was it ended up selling to someone local who I met at an auction just a couple of days after I had listed it on ebay. It had already received several bids & had a large number of watchers.

There was a large table at the this auction that was filled with boxes of record albums. The auctioneer could not get even an opening bid so the lot was passed. After the auction he was standing near the table talking to several people & when I walked by he asked me if I was sure I did not want to buy some records. I told him only if he could guarantee I would find an autographed one like I had listed on ebay right now. When I told him the details a girl in the group got very excited & said she was a huge Patsy Cline fan. She asked if I was absolutely sure it was authentic & I told her the circumstances. The consignor had obtained the records from the estate of a local disc jockey. This DJ was from a time when the singers & musicians would go around to the local radio stations to promote their records hoping they would get lots of air time.

She ended up taking my information & winning the auction. I still see her all the time at the local auctions & sales. She still has the album & tells me that is one of her prize possessions. :D:D:D She also admits had she not overheard me that day she would not have it, because it was not something she actively looked for & even if she had seen the listing she never would have bid as much as she did that day because she would have been skeptical about the authenticity. :smug::smug:

I know that I have a number of books signed by the authors, but the only well known author is Maurice Sendak...and that one is never leaving my possession.
