Hard to say. The pine cone dangle was used quite a bit but has been seen on Pennino jewelry. This looks more like a Goldette piece although without a mark it will be hard to ID the maker as this type of mesh jewelry was very popular in the 1960's and made by many.

Thanks Calico, your 60s date is likely correct as I was just guessing. So odd how the metalwork was so well cast then then....little plastic stones. Ah well, it does look good. Bought today at Charity Shop for a pound.

Also known as a quid. I should really look up the dollar conversion.

For a one pound coin it's hard to miss. It probably is American, but it's hard to be sure who made it. There were a ton of small factories about 60km down the road from me whose names never went onto their jewelry. Any one of them could have made the necklace. (Providence RI and North Attleboro MA were hotbeds of costume jewelry.)

Sorry no, all the factories have become condos, apartments, businesses or demolished. However I would love to send anyone who wants it some of the 14"+ of snow we are about to get.

Thanks Evelyb30, think it probably is an unknown factory, I believe the cone is slightly different shape to the Pennino.

I think it's a Brit. I have a similar mesh necklace, same blue stones and identical dangle. Bought in London.

Could be Ownedbybear. I'm in Norwich about 100 miles away from London.

It's a takeoff on a Victorian design, for certain. Which side of the Atlantic it came from...dunno. It might even be from one of the Canadian factories.

Thought you might like a look at mine. Plus, a brooch I'm sure is the same maker.

Yes, thanks Ownedbybear, looks same maker to me too. The cone, mesh quality and stones are identical. Really well made. Pity no marks, I'm sure someone somewhere knows, they are not pieces easily overlooked.

I've just realised I have earrings as well. Ma bought them in the 60s - so I really do think this is a British maker.
