    Hi

Could anyone share any information on this gravy boat? It has obviously seen better days and has no marking. I have found similar versions but not this exact one.

    Thanks in advance

Blue Willow was made by many companies in many countries.
Since there is no mark on the bottom, chances are it might be one of the American companies.

Blue transferware of the ubiquitous Blue Willow pattern. Just about everybody made it.

Could equally be Staffordshire made. So many of our factories didn't mark every day wares.

Can you get a straight on clear shot of the "remnants" of the mark on the bottom....not sure it will help, but worth a try!!!

hmmm...can't really helpmuch. The blue willow pattern has been popular for well over 200 years and has been made in large quantities in the UK, USA and Japan as well as other places. I've been eating daily on some that are English for years.

I did a quick browse through a book on Blue Willow that I have but it doesn't zero in on gravies so no good way to compare. There is sometimes some variation to the pattern or the border but if I was needing to know the maker I'd probably look for the handle and shape.

If you want it to look better you could give it a long soak in hot soapy water and if not looking enough better, long soak in peroxide followed by a long soak in water.

Hi there, I don't think it's actually a mark, there are a few specks of blue. Thanks :)

Hi Louise, In that angled shot of yours, I thought I saw more blue showing than is showing in your double shot of the base.....BUT, I was able to pull out what looks like a point of an arrow head....which means nothing to me, but it may to others who DO know much about marks.....OR NOT.....was worth a try anyhoo!!!! Sorry, wish it was more.......
