Hi All I cannot seem to find any information for this possible Sugar Bowl for Robert Burns Centenary. Any information would be appreciated especially about the mark and manufacturer.

I think it says Glasgow under the initials. Maybe Campbellfield?

Well, the mark is a thistle. Very appropriate for the the Bard of Ayrshire, national poet of Scotland, Robbie Burns. I now see Janet's reply. I tried editing the pic in hopes of reading the initials and/or words with no luck. Now I'll check my transferware reference books and see if I can come up with this trademark, this particular transferware pattern, etc.

You nailed it, Janet! Definitely the trademark of Campbellfield Pottery Co., of Glasgow. The initials on the banner are "C.P.C. LTD." The dates for this mark in Godden's Encyclopaedia of English Pottery & Porcelain Marks, p. 125, fig. 761, are c1884-c1905.

Thank you to all of you amazing information. I can hardly make out the CPC LTD but all ties in. Is it strange having TradeMark on the design or is this about the time companies would have started putting it on designs? I have only had the item 2 weeks I picked it up at a local table top. I wonder..... a bugbear of mine has been an armorial plate which I have had for a year or so and struggled gaining information. Will have to take a few photos in the future. Once again thank you for your help
