    What would you call this
    Silver Steeper/Strainer/Infuser ...the Shape?

    What is the shape?

    By the way ...it has a Crescent C mark with a "W" + STERLING + 31
I believe it was made by or for International Silver Co.

    Richard ;-)

I have never researched the costs on sterling strainers, so I can't say if that site has realistic estimates or not. Replacements Ltd is worth it's weight in gold for identifying patterns, but their asking prices are ... ahem...ambitious.... only beneficial for insurance purposes. I guess the usual eBay items sold search would give you your best estimate of it's worth. It might be hard to find comps, I gather yours is rare. You can always put a reserve on it and see who bites.

Speaking of silver, the Magazine Antiques just promoted this on-line curated catalog of fine candlesticks for sale from Koopman's. In addition, their website has a directory of silversmiths, mostly English, with brief bio's. No marks though. shorturl.at/AHTU1

Thanks! Google gets most the credit, as usual. I know some members don't like to click on links, so if the info isn't too lengthy, I try to cut and paste. And I was well-trained to always include sources, so other researchers can judge the merit of the info.
