For sale is a rare porcelain figurine HUTSUL with FLUTE (Hutsuls people are ethno group of Ukrainians who for centuries have inhabited the Carpathian mountains).
The sculptor of this figurine V. Shcherbyna. The figurine was made at the Horodnytsya (better known as Gorodnitsa among porcelain cillectors) porcelain factory. Original stamp and imprinted number on the bottom. Judging by the stamp the figurine can be attributed to 1960s, height about 27 cm. Please no time wasters. I will mail it from Ukraine well packed. I hold no responsibility for anything that could happen to it upon its trip to you. I want to sell the whole collection which is about 400 pieces but currently I can sell the duplicates I have. Kind regards, Natasha Hutsul with flute 2.jpg Hutsul with flute 3.jpg

I have no idea whether this figurine is rare and/or valuable but, as a matter of principle, I would not buy from a seller who is not prepared to guarantee an intact delivery.

Please do not take offence at this comment, it is meant to be helpful.

I understand you. But how can I guarantee an intact delivery if I have no control over it? I can only guarantee that I will pack it in the best possible way and get it insured but who knows what can happen on the way....

I sell a lot on Ebay.

I accept that it is the seller's responsibility to deliver the item to the buyer and that my description is accurate.

As a seller you shohld be prepared to refund the buyer if the item arrives damaged. Thoroughness of packing and choice of postal service can help, and you may be able to insure but many post services will not insure ceramics.

What you cant do, or maybe should not do, is to ask the buyer to accept the transit damage risk.

Thank you for your explanation. It is fair that if the item arrives damaged I should refund the buyer. The question is full or partial refund. I assume it depends on damage, proved with photo. If it is just minor damage and it can be restored, it should be partial refund and the subject of negotiation, correct?

Hi, it may depend on the relevant legal system. For minor damage, it may be possible to agree a partial refund. But the buyer may have the right to return the item for a full refund, including outward and return postage costs.

No, this isnt Ebay, but a seller may well find that the payment enabler (credit card or paypal) will not accept seller refusing to accept responsibilty for transit damage in the event that it occurs.

Op asked for clarification of my initial post, which I gave.
