Figtree3 What would you do if you weren't afraid?

Personally, I really miss the occasional insult, or attempt at it, that we had on the ebay boards, as some of you will remember I'd always adopt the latest one as my signature till a better one came along. Making up your own is just no fun.

I promise to tidy another room if we could just get back to all those piles of precious junk?

Please don't "tidy another room." Those "tidy" rooms aren't half as much fun to look at as the "unruly" rooms where one must work at discerning what is located therein. ;)

How would I make any finds if I just let it lie?

You could tidy just a little section at a time. :)

And then untidy it before moving on to the next section. :joyful:

I showed this thread to my sister, who has graciously helped me from time to time deal with my clutter. She agreed that if we all lived near each other we would have a great time diving into each other's stashes and moving it from one house to the next. Reminded me of a joke, I think from Lovejoy, about putting 3 antiques dealers on a deserted island with one antique desk - they all make a living:joyful:.

The great work begins. Floor exists, a plan develops, two long obsolete PC towers are on the way to the recycle place at the tip, and I found two nice swordsticks that I had more or less forgotten where they were.

The garage is surveyed with a view to making some space for more stuff, I think I can move the first 8 feet of storage boxes to the office and further back in the garage.

My team of advisors approves in their usual manner.

LOL! And thereby hangs a tale...

Years ago, my husband and I gave BIG parties. You know that odd thing that happens when a lot of people are all talking at once, and there is suddenly a momentary silence*, and then chatter begins again?

This happened at one of them which happened to include a great many English and Scottish people. Into that wee bit of silence, came my dear friend's voice saying, "That's what I Hate about the English."

    OI!

But she calmly (and enviously) continued, "They all speak French!"

    Our kilted friends roared.

*This is supposed to happen at 20 minutes after the hour, or 20 minutes before. And, it does. 'Splain that!
