Featured Gloss Black Vase with Flowers

    I'm trying to figure out the maker of this vase. About 6 3/4" tall, hand painted, with 401 / 17 in European style numbers along with a blurry blue mark.

    Can you make out any of the letters under the 401?

    Yes I saw that. I was talking about what I underlined. Now I think it is just a line.

    So from janet's example, can we infer that 401 is the style of the vase and 15 or 17 is the glaze treatment?

    The 15 and 17 are centimeters, so they are two different sizes. You can see the 17 corresponds to the OP's about 6 3/4 inches.
