She's posed in such a weird position, I'm wondering if she originally had something dangling from her left hand. A basket? A pet on a leash?

Is this girl in any California Pottery books? Possibly shown with an accessory for the left hand?

The Chipman California Pottery Scrapbook shows several of the lucite/pottery figurines, but not this one.

It says Elzac was the precursor to the Mattel toy corporation. I know that doesn't really help you any - I just thought it was interesting. :D

    From the book:

"Elliot Handler and a financial partner named Zachary Zemby (hence the name "Elzac") started in Los Angeles in 1941. In 1944, a new business partnership was formed when Elzac foreman Matt Matson and Elliot Handler founded Mattel in nearby Hawthorne. Handler, who was an industrial designer, was enamored of Lucite and its potential, and Elzac produced costume jewelry, figurines, and other giftware that incorporated Lucite until about 1947."

here is a figure holding a basket, the chain goes through his hand so maybe yours isn't missing anything? I'll keep looking.
Not sure why the link wouldn't work, here is the cut and paste from the worth point page

Thanks all. The Elzac Gift Art bonnet girl from Pinterest traces back to WorthPoint, same as the basket boy.

The basket boy does look like he's made to match my girl. The orange lucite basket matches her orange lucite bonnet. Both wearing brown.

Well, it may just be my imagination that the pose implies she should have something attached to her left arm. A parasol? A parrot? LOL!:joyful:

I've thought a parasol would look right but it's a little hard to imagine how it would stay put. At least for me.

I'm imagining it would just dangle from the arm and the way the hand is made, that would keep it from sliding off. Maybe.

    Yes, I thought the same.
I've never heard of this company or the products they made, I love the figures.
Some of the brooches are amazing:) I especially liked the lucite and pottery fish pieces I came across.
