    I am thinking inexpensive agate or similar type of stones?

    Jasper, agate and a smattering of jade. These beads are usually made in China, India or Mexico. Sold at gem shows individually or in strands.

    These are some images you may want to google and check out:-
    round beads nearest clasp...picture or Picasso jasper
    smallest of "donut" stones...unakite, a form of jasper
    green "donut" stones...green aventurine, a form of quartz
    flat oval beads...peach jasper

    Sorry, should have said peach quartz for flat oval beads, and perhaps ocean jasper for round beads.

    Unakite is not a jasper,it is a granite with quartz,feldspar and epidote.
