I found a couple of nice pieces of Robert Held Art Glass, a Blenko water bottle, some sort of metal, maybe bronze set of figures that I think is supposed to be a chess set, will have to start a thread about them, the sterling bachelor teapot and a beer light.

 

Cxgirl, my sisters & I bought our Mom one of those Blenko water bottle thingies in the early/mid-1960's. We bought it in blue. She used it to root philodendron plants!

 

What colour is it SBSVC? I have a purple one, I think is was from 1998 or 99, the one I just got is from 2000 and signed by Richard Blenko.

 

CX, the one we bought was blue - not really cobalt, but more of a dark teal-ish shade... (Mom still has it!)

It was DEFINITELY in the early/mid-1960's when we bought it. There was a certain period of time during which we all had ballet class on Saturday mornings (4 girls, 3 different classes) and we'd be dropped off "downtown" at 8:30 am & picked up again at 1:30 pm.

If we needed to buy a gift for Mom (Christmas, birthday, etc) the 4 of us would sneak out & run down to a specific store on Main St & pick out something we could all agree on. (Sometimes, the "agree" part was difficult!) That water bottle/vase/philodendron starter (!) was one of many such things we bought.

 

CX...the Held glass is very nice !!!!

Yes, I really like his glass and have kept several pieces.

I bought this wonderful Wedgwood vase / urn for 3$. The classic lion mascarons are so pretty. The vase is 6 inches tall, just enough to not be a miniature vase, but an actual smaller vase you can put flowers in.

Can anyone tell how old it is based on the marks?

Y The Date Mark for 1870

 

Hi,
The Y date mark is wrong since it says Made in England. The correct date is marked on the base it is 1965. The Y mark would have been right if the base only said Wedgwood and not say Made in England.

I Been looking for a old vintage Mic for a long time and most I seen seemed to be the Aluminium bullet shape types from may be the 1960s .

So when seen this come up at A auction couldn't Resist it it cost me £125.00 All in

I possibly thinks it dates from 1930s to the 50s seems to be original stand .

Think I done well all round most likely one of the items I be reluctant to sell on.

Sweet! If that thing works, a recording studio would take it off your hands for a fair price. Some artists love getting their hands on vintage mics.

 

NICE Bit of old staffordshire pottery

The bottom seemed to fallen out of Staffordshire figures some time ago so can pick up some nice bits for decent money .

Cost £20.00 All in tried bidding on a couple more staffordshire but didn't win .

 

I seen on on line at a vintage sound equipment shop not for sale but for hire at £35.00 + vat a week so might think that's the way to go .

Like I said I might be reluctant to sell so who knows hire might be the way to go .

But it is nice isn't it .

This is why I love doing what we do we can fall in love with things .
