    It's pretty hard to tell what it might be from the photo. How big is it and is that a broken spot on it?

    Just a WAG some sort of pintle.

    It may be nothing more than a wedge to facilitate construction, even destruction, of almost anything. I've used similar tools to drive ship hull plates together as well as separate them. I still have some to use as needed for other projects.

    It looks like what we would call in Dutch a 'muuranker', which translates literally to 'wall anchor', used to strengthen the construction of a wall.

    Just a guess - would it work to open paint cans? Or similar cans where one wants to pry on the edge without damaging it?
    No actual patent number, I assume.....

    Another good question for OP Seagoat: How big is it?
    and maybe a clearer photo, I can't quite make out the right-hand end. Are any parts sharpened?
