    Hi,
    I think it was to celebrate someones 50th either birthday or anniversary. The bells on the end would make more sense for anniversary.

    Yes, I would go with Golden wedding anniversary and hand crocheted. If it was a royal piece surely it would have the name of the Monarch. Whoever did this was talented though.

    I will agree with Lloyd: they look like crowns to me. But I will also agree with the others: a 50th anniversary something, not royal.
