Carved wood bears drinking beer - they have a keg and everything - pyrography?

My first that was that they may be tanuki, the iconic "raccoon dogs" from Japan. (And they would be another animal that lacks tails.) However, these also lack the large stomach and the two other main physical features of tanuki! They are displaying the propensity for indulging in excessive drinking, however.

Right now, however, I'm leaning more toward Ukraine. Bears, along with eagles, are the main subjects of their wood carvings. And the wooden tankards/mugs the bears are using would certainly fit into that area of the world. The pine cone, wooden tankards, bears, and the style of the wood burned carving all would fit in with it being eastern European.

    Ahhh, Robert Mitchum!

I like the idea of Eastern Europe! Smokey Mtns. bears that got into the "hooch" certainly would not be genteel enough to use mugs.
