Couple more things to show. Picked up this French carved wood picture for $5.00. Signed F. Raugel. A couple days later, picked up two smaller ones for $2.00 each. Did not get them pictured.

This is not mine but too cool not to show. Probably the wildest TV lamp I have ever seen. Friend of mine bought it at a garage sale. Has had it in our shop for $85.00 for months now with no takers. Thought it would fly out the door at that price.

Today's clearance, small house, no antiques.

    Found £30 and €3 cash

I got lots of good quality power tools, drills, grinders, saws, sanders (Makita), and an 8 inch Bench Grinder.

    Lots of clocks and barometers.
The deceased was an amatuer clock maker.

Large regulator clock at the top of the stairs hanging on the wall.

Brass ships clock and barometer, home made.

    20200323_104457.jpg

Random clocks all over the house.

    20200323_104017.jpg

At the top of the stairs was an oak cabinet and fastened to the top was a really heavy electric lathe, I don't know how the guy got it up there , I struggled to get it down.

    20200323_104142.jpg

However look a bit closer, lying on its side just above the black wheel more or less centre.

Walther PPK 8mm pistol, 7 live rounds in the mag and no safety on:eek:

Made in West Germany so at least 30 years old. and possibly 70 years old.

    The safety does not work.

I might carry it when shopping for bog roll :hilarious::hilarious:

I found several home made batons near every door and under the bed and a CS gas canister, as if he was expecting a visit.

I found his passport, he was from Belfast and had a proper Micks name.

I think his metal Lathe might have been for making small arms and boring the barrels from replicas.

The guy might have been a dormant IRA or a hiding informant.

I'm going to wait until I'm paid tomorrow before going to see my ex colleagues

I "found" this while cleaning out some shelves. I bought it maybe 25 years ago and forgot about it. I love old books with black and white design samples in them. Here are a few pages :)

My sister wants to make masks; I went and "found" a large shopping bag full of quilting fabrics and flannel in the sewing room. That ought to keep her busy for a while.

My sister is doing that. Do you know what level of protection they provide--are there certain materials that have to be layered for it to be effective? Was wondering about that.

My daughter is a medic on our ambulance service. She wants me to make some to use to cover her N-95 mask to possibly extend the life of it. She is also deputy coroner so wants it for that mask as well. If you can cover a medical mask, drop the cover in the washer with hot water, it just might help in our city of 10,000 where our supplies are quite limited. I have to laugh at these videos making a mask of a paper towel. If you google it, the corona virus is only 0.1microns in diameter, much smaller than the average bacteria. A single layer paper towel mask only filters out 23% of particles 0.3 microns in diameter, double layer bumps it up to 33%. Better than no protection at all but not terribly efficient.

They're not, probably, but there's a pattern for mask covers to extend the life of the masks that do work.

Probably what they're doing here too.

Sort of perk of the job.

One month since purchase, never been sat on, still had delivery packaging.

From the last but one clearance, nice clean home.

7 foot leather double electric recliner.

    Receipt said £2200.

I got paid to take this away.

    I just installed it today.

I had to buy the cushions:eek:
