Hello Board Buddies! Recently acquired a compote in what might be Dugan's Question Marks pattern with Georgia Belle exterior. There a couple of things that bother me though. First, it's heavier than I would have expected. Second, the color is a kind of light custard. I didn't find any reference to this compote (or any Dugan product) in this color. Does anyone know if I have Dugan production or a later reproduction? Thank you very much for whatever guidance you can provide.
    Don

Hi Don! Not sure if this will help, but according to Carl O. Burns book, the compote was made in marigold, amethyst, white, peach opalescent marigold.

A double handled bonbon was made in the same colors with the addition of cobalt blue, ice green,smoky/lavender, line green with marigold overlay (green?)

He shows the compote in Amethyst with a 3 part pattern.....Question Mark on the interior, Georgia Belle on the exterior, and Puzzle on the pedestal foot.

No mention of custard that I read.

Thank you for the confirmation folks! I was sure there was no way this could be anything but a reproduction.

I have one like it. Mine glows under a black light. Does yours? Does anyone know who reproduced it and when? Thanks. Monica

I would have thought that L. G. Wright would have been the one to reproduce it, but looking through the index to the L. G Wright monograph produced by the MAG, I could not find it mentioned. That does not deny that Wright may have done it.

For the record, the compote does glow under a black light.
