    bully for you ! :)
I don't know enough of the French industrial history for deciding if the French made up names of the first syllables. Si Bo could be a short form for "si beau" - so beautiful. Si by itself could stand for Société Industrielle. kyra may know.

Unfortunately I know no French, Italian, German, Dutch, etc.

Before PC came to town, my ethnic orientation was referred to as..... Dumb Swedes. I think I figured out why......we believed what anyone would tell us!

I do not believe in PC and I can laugh louder than anyone if the joke is on me.

When I see the word Puppen, I think Puppet......unfortunately just showing my ignorance.

But that is why this Board is so wonderful. And I thank all of you from other Countries for your ability to speak English! And speak it so well.

My hat's off to all of you!

I don't know how to call some of the French about the name Si Bo.
and may I add - I do not receive any, but only see by haphazard that someone thinks I'm beautiful and wants to know anything from me.:hilarious::hilarious::hilarious:

    Haha! You are the JURY...;):joyful:
I know nothing about dolls:bucktooth: but if SI stood for Société Industrielle, I think it should write S.I.
I love your idea of a model/firm name "SI BO" phonetic for "si beau" :):)

a very typical thing done in German factory names. best known example for technical people is "Widia", which is short for Wie Diamant - drills "as hard as diamond" by Krupp.
