Wise Asian idol mystery

    Optimized-Asian man A.jpg Optimized-IMG_E1494.JPG Optimized-IMG_E1498.JPG This is an Asian looking idol about 12 inches tall. Acquired it at some estate sale.
    no markings. The back is flat.
    The item is not rock, but some other material similar to plaster etc. It is heavy for the size.The idol is chipped in some places and you can see the material texture.
    I believe there is some very faint traces of yellow/gold on the right knuckles and the girdle?
    Looks like he carried something on his left hand at some point.

    That type of material indicates that it is a cast item, not an original carving; and cast items are generally produced in multiple copies. It is not necessarily a reproduction of any specific item, but it is a mass-produced decorative item, not an original, if it is made of plaster.
    Just speaking in general; others may have additional comments.
