Your GIA appraiser will be fine on the nature of the stones or gold content, but won't be able to assess it as an antique. This must certainly NOT have a file test. Goos old gold filled can be worth far more than modern precious metal.

Nice thing, that. Needs research on that mark, which to me looks like E+R.

Ok the file test I will definitely say no to. I will try to post a more magnified and clear photo of the makers mark. Thank you for your taking the time to view my item.

I have 2 magnified photos of the makers mark one of the top mark and one of the bottom mark they both appear to be E.R Where would I look for info on the mark? I searched it on the net but found nothing, maybe I just don't know where to look. image.jpeg image.jpeg

If someone has already said this please pardon me, just be cautious if the appraiser tells you it's not worth much, but then turns around and offers to buy it from you for a low amount.
It's very pretty and good luck with it.

Thank you so much, that's very kind. I'm excited too. I have always enjoyed thrifting and like unusual old things. It just seems like they take you back to a whole nother time era. Like I wonder who wore it and for what occasion. Love the mystery as long as we can solve it. Lol

Here is one possibility, although yours has a period and not a star.

I have not been able to find anything on this person.

That is a possibility, that's more than I could find. Thank you. I wonder who made such a beautiful piece of high quality jewelry , but yet there is no information on that mark. Has a piece of jewelry ever been stamped with the initials of the person it was made for instead of who made it? Like an it belongs to me stamp?

no, not to the best of my knowledge......or anything i've gleaned from this site.

but, the artist / jeweler made sure his mark was visible in several locations & this just can not be the only work he ever made.

    So far....a mystery ! Yay !!!

Ok. Yes you are 100 percent right it can not be the only one, wish I knew where the rest were lol. I went online and submitted photos to Dr. Lori Verderame for an online appraisal. I hope to hear back from them. I figured I needed to try something additional to my Tuesday appraisal. That way I will hopefully have this mystery solved. If she is stumped I'm in trouble! Lol

    Do you have a loupe?
If so, look around all the edges where it would have made contact with skin, also look into any scratches. What you are looking for is wear. You are looking for a different color metal under the gold color. That would indicate that it is not solid gold.

I'm taking it outside in the light to look at it with a loop and I will take some photos of what I see and post them for you to look at, many eyes are better than one. Thanks

I took a few photos 2nd photo is of where the chain connects to the pendant and if there was wear it would show there for sure. I do not see wear through the gold, you look and let me know please. And I took pics of repair attempts there are covered in dark solder so I can't tell that way. There is a jump ring use to connect the two pieces that ring has wear and a green color tarnish. That is only on that ring. The 1st photo you can see that ring in the back ground top left corner, That pic also shows where someone put surface scratches but no base metal shows through on the pendant. Photo 3 &4 are of those repair attempts. image.jpeg image.jpeg image.jpeg image.jpeg

Not sure what happened to my post, so if this is a duplicate, please forgive.
I see a '95' scratched into the frame support and it could be a jeweler's code. I think this is solid gold, early 20th Century and GORGEOUS ! Please keep us updated.

It could also be the jeweler's code for the repairs. If you can't find anyone to test it for you feel free to send it to me and I will test the stones and metal. I do it for many folks on the Ebay jewelry board and will get it checked and back to you the next day. I can understand if you are leery of that but the offer will remain open.
