Book from my family

Just found this book, which was not from book sale, that is from my family. I had always just liked it, but just noticed it is a second edition book from 1910. Not sure what to do with it.
Any ideas? If I keep it what should I do to preserve it? I have had it on a book shelf.

 

It's value is sentimental. I'd put it somewhere where the sight of it gives pleasure.

Leaving it on a shelf is safe enough, provided it has some support on the sides and does not sag or slump. Laying it on its side is safest, if you don't stack anything on top of it. Keep it in climate you feel comfortable in - not too hot, not too humid; keep it away from direct sunlight. Kept so, it should be fine for another hundred years or more - looks like it's printed on good paper, and the cloth binding is not nearly as prone to decay as leather. It's a legal classic and worth a couple hundred or more, so it's well to keep it safe.

 

Look up 'Sovereign Citizens', a bunch of deluded people who absolutely love to quote from obsolete editions of Black's Law Dictionary as if it were holy gospel, to support their rather crazy versions of what the law is, especially about driving and licences.

YouTube is littered with videos of Black's Law believers having encounters with police which never end well. As an eager student of the hopelessly deluded, I was delighted to see a real obsolete Black's Law Dictionary, rather like a unicorn hunter actually finding the mythical beast.

If others are like me, there may well be an unsuspected market for this book.
