We collect vintage hand carved, hand painted wooden duck decoys. Since our last move most of them are still stored in boxes. I really do have to make some time, unpack them and to take pictures. Most of our collection we inherited. But have over the years added other pieces auctions and estate sales.

Is anyone else here collecting duck decoys?

I do not collect duck decoys, but I admire them and I have written various articles about them, on many writing assignments. I have seen a lot of vintage decoys, doing research on the subject, which were so interesting and uniquely carved.

    Artistry,
I have just now joined the group, (thank you to Davey for the invitation)...and noticed your post regarding duck decoys.
I am a collector myself, and was very honored to have been a close friend of the late Dr. James Mc.Cleery, who at the time of his death in 1999, was considered by many to be one of the major collectors of Antique decoys and Sporting Collectibles in the country.
I am delighted to part of this Forum, and look forward to posting on a regular basis.
By the way, how do I post a personal photo here on the Forum..?
I'm not too fond of that fertility sign...(lol).!!
