ACRYLIC/LUCITE(?) WAVE - ART? LETTER HOLDER?

    I found this in a closet & am not sure what it is/was? It has a sticker on the back that makes me wonder if it's really art as I first thought.
    Any ideas?

    What is that blue color at the base in a couple of photos? ;)
    Do you see any cast marks on the base?

    The label includes AC and DC, so I think it's either related to lighting, or something else electrical.

    The ORCA phone!? I thought the coolest was the Joe Namath Football phone with a new subscription to Sports Illustrated! I like the orca better.
