    Very pretty, Terry!

As Komo said, it's a "lady's vanity" item.

I have quite a collection of these & various other crystal & sterling vanity jars & bottles (for talcs, powders, rouges, lotions, creams, etc, etc, etc!)

Got these Rookwood Pottery Panther bookends recently. Same sale had a pair of Elephant bookends but they sold too high and for the money I like these better.

Joe! The bookends...? I have never seen a big cat posed in such a sensuous and human way. I love those!

But every cat owner knows that cats love to lay on the book you are reading. :hilarious:

But they are stunning, and I wish I had run across some when I was still active. :wideyed:

With a microwave and ice dispenser in the fridge door, how old would it be?

I can see why you liked it. It's very cute in pink, and seems to be in very good shape. The children who played with it must have been very careful. Was just curious about when - 90's?

First in-door ice dispenser was by Frigidaire in '65.

    Really - '65?

Now, microwaves of the built-in variety are much newer than that. Even my old early 90's model was enormous, outrageously heavy and loud!

Yes and mw technology is fairly old now (by Raytheon) but not sure about above counter designs.

    Hi,
My first wife had to have a microwave. It was the size of a refrigerator but the opening was only big enough to insert one plate. As bakersgma said it was heavy and loud but to have a baked potato in 10 mins was remarkable. If I remember right it cost 1000 bucks when I was making 425 a month. This was in 1965. The house only cost 7000 but pumpkin had to have the dang thing.

Note: and I've heard negativity to this but I knew an important person who worked for Raytheon who told me to not open the door until the beeping stops.
That is to not only tell you it's done but that the waves are no longer dangerous. Until then they are still in motion.
Also, the waves do not turn corners and so they can't escape the door.
And...the reason there is a screen behind the glass, with always the same sized perforations in every brand, is because the waves can't fit through that size hole.

I had not heard the part about the little holes in the window. Interesting. I hadn't thought about it until you brought it up, Milt!

On Murdoch Mysteries , Mr.Tesla explained the placement of the holes while creating a screen to defeat a microwave death ray !!!

Amazing the stuff you can learn from TV !!
