Hello everybody - I don't know why I bother looking in Kovel's anymore. I never seem to find any of the marks I'm looking for. I've got a 9 1/2" plate meant for display. Nice transfer decal with a few white painted highlights. There's a partial mark on the back that looks like either a dragon or a lion in profile. I think the last four letters of the mark before the word china are "heim" but I'm not sure. Any help would be much appreciated.

Check out Blenheim. I'm kicking myself for not doing a google image search first thing.

She's not a gypsy. She's wearing traditional regional dress from Italy.

I don't know whether the chicken or the egg came first, because you can find plenty of paintings of gypsy girls wearing the same sort of clothing. I guess I'm one of the few who hope people won't start resurrecting old threads to clog up the board.

While I always appreciate the help the issue is now moot. I sold the plate several years ago. I wish I still had the original title and listing description but eBay's records (at least those available to the seller) don't go back that far. Thank you to everyone that contributed.
