    Hi all!
I found these at a neighborhood garage sale for $20 each; good price?
They were - or were going to be- lamps; they already have the holes drilled into them for the wiring.
Where are they from? (They make me think of the guy with the flying carpet I read about as a kid!)
    What period are they from?
Better to sell as is or maybe take to Michaels's or a store like it and have it wired or buy & wire myself?
They are in really good condition (except for a chip missing from one side of the corner of the handle of the jug the woman is holding on top of her head)
    Any info would be appreciated!

I would sell them 'as is' - as "lamps to be" because if I wanted them as lamps, I'd rather wire them myself. Plus the good thing: you won't accidentally damage anything this way! ;)

I am not sure these are actually old. The smirk on the guy on the left's face looks more modern, than at my first glance..

I cannot tell about the age without close ups of details. Even the bases appear suspect to me.

Look old (and awful) to me. That's a 1950s smirk.

Aquitaine Is What It IS! But NEVER BORED!

Besides, where's the exit holes for the 'wires to be' ......at the back or will it be under the felt.....unless you REALLY like and want to keep, I'd sell AS IS! You're looking for trouble if you mess with them!!!

I used to collect/sell oversized figural chalkware 1950s lamps (had a bit of an obsession back in the late 1980s, early 90s) something about these is off unless not U.S. made and they just have a different look. If U.S., thinking maybe 1970s or so.

Vintage chalkware lamps in general don't have great resale value nowadays (a quick Ebay check and you'll see what I mean.) Only those that have a super, super desirable 1950s design and in near perfect condition are selling so probably doesn't make sense spending money to try to wire these. (Edit: IF for online resale.)

To me that is never old, but I date from the 1950s (including smirk :D), and refuse to accept that I am old.:joyful:
In the central gold circles on the base I think:

That's what I was going to point out (wire exit holes in 2nd to last photo - or above!)
