Neckties (prob UK) Identify the logos (Part 1)

With 400+ ties identified we are down to the last 100 or so ties of our big necktie purchase, mostly UK ties covering industry, sport, military and more from the period 1960-2000

It is getting harder and harder to identify so would appreciate any help and have listed photos of 10 woven fabric logos/symbols for your brains to solve as ours are beginning to melt.

The wheatsheaf symbol has GRFC below (so probably a rugby union club

nice finds! I recently sold a huge batch of old ties for pennies on the dollar.

We have sold about a quarter of the ties so far, it has been an excellent buy!! :-D

 

Any hand painted or 40s - 60s?

 

There were a few that were probably 60s, made from crimplene.

What surprised me was the enthusiasm for old company/corporate ties.

Handpainted??

Hand painted ones were fairly common in the 50s and maybe either side a bit. Cowboys, landscapes, Hula girls... Whatever.

I thought you were talking about the hand painted naked ladies from the 30s/40s. They were painted on the silk inside the tie so guys could laugh and gasp at what was there.

Those too but I forgot about them for I've never found one.

 

Funny you should mention that, just listed a 60s/70s MCP tie with a bikini girl on the inside liner!

I don't have the few hand painted ones handy to shoot for you. I do have a few others that are not really, really old but I like them much and wore one for my Nephew's wedding recently.

Found it with 'mcp tie'.

 

We used to make logo ties for Canadian firms....but these are out of my wheelhouse.
