Framed Replica wall sculpture

Hi

I ve never seen one of these, could this be aN expensive souvenir or some sort of replica stone wall sculpture? i dont think its real stone or really old Because all the edges have been rounded of a bit, looks on purpose

on the back it says imperio spain, so i geuss thats where it was framed.

any input would be great thanks

Misterke, is the relief cold or warm to the touch?

Edit: Oops, just noticed it is behind glass, so you can't touch it.

 

Yes i should take it out of the frame to touch it but its properly framed so i m afraid to break things. When i knock on the back panel it does sound like white french sand stone or a tile, and on the sides i do sometimes see little crystals like sand, but even then it can still be a mixture of dust and glue or some sort no?

 

No, leave it, I just didn't notice the glass at first.

Could be, I guess some kind of cast stone mixture. Someone else on the forum will know.

 

artificial stone is widely used for statues etc.. not worth unpacking.
perhaps a piece of the Elgin Marbles ?
