af, your ivory piece is lovely, glad she is in the house!
Pat that catalog is great reference material.
I picked up a mixed lot of pins & medals - one is a Sons of England Benevolent Society past president pin marked 10K. The initials (EJS) are for the individual, will take that in for testing tomorrow. Also included the star with the lion face - seemed out of place with the other items.

It it is clear that no mirror or anything was meant to be placed on the other side

The other side IS the mirror. Just not a silvered glass mirror. A polished metal mirror.

    Thanks Marko and Shi
That's a neat haul of jewels!!!
af love the shed finds especially the carving!
Funky that brass paddle? is beautiful!
Love the dolls, I use to collect them but now only if their unusual which I just havnt seen many unusual ones. Those one you have are neat Shi! I remember the blue totes, so funny!
BG Before grand children there was a time while I was working 60 hours a week and shopping in zombie state but buying like a mad man. The was nearly a path thru my house. It just got out of hand and no time to sell. Then the holidays and some old family stopped by omg red face.....my light bulb came on...then grandchildren
I use to have to prop my shed doors up as it was bulging lol
    That started the purge
Still purging but theres little left

Not sure about anyone else but I sure miss nuffs neat finds, I wish she would overlook the negative, probably those who don't like me either, I don't care, but many I do like. Did you score that lot of estate boxes? Im guessing her stash of neat finds are great as usual but I still loved seeing them

    Hi all -

Yes, it does appear with your help, afantiques, that I have a Chinese Bronze Mirror - thank you! I would have looked silly swatting flies here in the South or ping-pong balls (take-that!) with it. Thanks to this forum, I took a chance and bought it. And yes, I greatly miss Nuff's post - I would never have purchased these 'Funkey' Asian/European items in the past and it has been fun to find out I have some type of treasure every so often.

Thank you, Sharona. I did purchase one other nice porcelain (seems to be high quality) Asian goblet with a gold stamp on the base from this store that I better ask about soon. Now I've been kicking myself that I left behind a third Asian item that I was on the fence about - it had some interesting markings and looked maybe older, but this an area I'm still learning on... but I was already on cart number two and the store was closing. :shy:

Great finds as always Marko - great prices on both.

Mary - everyone always loves your treasures and for good reason. I think they are drawn to you like a magnet. That 'lot' is fantastic!

lol Funkey, thanks for the chuckle! It is a neat looking piece.
I love this thread, everyone finds some terrific items and it really opens my eyes as to what to look for. I too miss seeing nuff's finds, she/he always found interesting stuff!

Thanks, Mary! And thank you all. I miss you folks and this thread as well. It was and will always be my fav.

I see a lot of nice finds have been poppin'-up since I last posted. Funkey, nice mirror. Looks more Japanese than Chinese to me. You might want to focus your research in that direction.

Since you all miss me so much, :) here are three "interesting" pieces...

The first is a letter (not a facsimile) written by this guy:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Theodore_Thomas_(conductor)

And for you jewelry lovers, here's two sports related pieces...

    THOMAS LETTER 001-001.JPG

    FOOTBALLS 002-001.JPG

The letter appears pretty "rare". Institutions seem to not have many. Many written to him, but not by him.

They're asking $500+ just for an autograph: http://www.ebay.com/itm/THEODORE-TH...468?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item562acb9cc4 wonder how much for the whole letter?

I found this piece about 3 weeks ago. It has been attributed to Anna Pottery and will be at the Crocker Farm auction on Oct 25th.

The Anna piece is outstanding. I would not have expected this to be Anna. What's the presale est.?

Here's a other example of the KPM piece. I've actually found about 4 other examples and all are red like the one in the link. All sell around the same price too. I'm hoping mine is a rarer color since I can't find any other examples. A finger on the right hand has been snapped and glued, but doesn't look bad. I'm hoping to realize half of what other have sold for.

Personally I like they color of mine better. Here's a close up...

Presale on the Anna is 5k, but they said it might very well exceed that. There really isn't any comparisons since it isn't typical for Anna Pottery. It is initialed by Wallace Kirkpatrick on the base.

Wow great finds! I wouldn't think that finger will hurt it much

mr2real.....Wow on the Anna piece. :) How did you go about researching that piece, and knowing it was Anna, if I might ask? You said it was a one-off. Was it the initials that clued you in?

The initials along with the complexity and workmanship. Anna was actually the first maker I came up with when I started researching.
