    according to that woman.........she said ' tin ' !

& since she's not from around here .... & you accept her story ....then might I suggest you continue along that path and present your items to her , for her take on things.....

Doubt it was unique, the base urn was made in one workshop and sold to various small back alley workshops.Unknown numbers of workers cutting out metal shapes and others doing the koftgari inlay and chasing. The piece handed to others who sanded and polished the piece. The finished pieces sold from workshop store front or other shops in the area or another city.

What do you know about it, I'm happy to listen to you? This is a public forum and I'm on here to ask aswell as other sources.

I'm also getting conflicting opinions on here too, I'm entitled to gather as much information as I can. You have no idea whether I've made up my mind.

    It's definitely not tin

according to that woman who's told me a bit about it, my urn is unique and not mass produced.

Hey guys, I've found out that my Egyptian Urn is in fact quite unique and not a tourist piece afterall. I'm so delighted.

the opinions you've voiced would seem to indicate otherwise........

I'm sorry you can assume all you want but you actually have no right accusing me of wanting my cake and eat it. Of course I'm delighted with the information, whether its tin or plastic I love it all the same. I just want information about it. I take great offense in your accusations and confrontation in a public forum. Really there is no need for that. I know nothing about this vase either and I'm certainly very new to antiques. I appreciate all opinions regarding this. I'm not debating with you anymore because I have stuff to do.

Ok guys, I've had it appraised by a famous antique dealer here in the UK. Holly blue and Stacci you were right on the button. It's a tourist piece right enough and its value is around £100. I paid £7 for it so no loss. I'm keeping hold of it as it's nice on my table. Thanks guys for the information.

"you actually have no right accusing me of wanting my cake and eat it."

    Ya...I kinda do !
& I don't assume.....I just read what you wrote & it's there in black and white..

"definitely not tin"... & "my Egyptian Urn is in fact quite unique"
Those aren't opinions ...those are statements of what you believe to be true !@!!
You were cherry picking information gleaned here and elsewhere......

" I take great offense in your accusations and confrontation in a public forum"

Well, I'm actually sorry about that, but like you say, it is a public forum & I've yet to see a ground swell of members calling me out for being too harsh....or wrong!!

( and they would, because I am not off limits , & when I'm way off base...I get told so ....as required on a public forum like this !! )

Enjoy your lovely urn, it's very pretty.... but it's not made with silver & it's not unique..........as you now acquiesce to....
