Hi to all, I'm occasionally buying antiques when I go on vacation as a souvenir. I'm not expert so hopefully I will learn something new on this forum.
Greetings, SVK! What an interesting thing to do on vacation. Are there particular kinds of things you bring home? Care to show some off?
Hi SVK! This is a GREAT board for becoming well informed.....a terrific bunch of nice experts in many areas here!!! So,
I'm not easily offended It's all good, forums are for entertainment and knowledge not a places to argue.
I walk to the shop and if something catches my eye I buy it if it is within the budget. I'm collecting coins and bank notes.Unusual Silver coins and old stuff. Nothing dear or precious, I have very little knowledge so I usually stick with low budget. That way it doesn't hurt my pocket
I have almost always done this... Buy what I like. And it's a good thing for I have a lot. If I at least get my money back or make money on much of it...then great.
Tastes change over time.....or....you can sell some things to buy others that are bigger, better & that you like MORE ! Welcome..
& some days I wonder why I didn't get into dealing stamps......ever try shipping an 8 foot totem pole .....
Schlepping !! My pal & I carried one off a truck towards the Gallery one day....& I walked backwards into a double parking meter ! Those metal posts don't move ........OUCH !!! But I didn't dare drop my end of the pole !
Well, if *I* had been on the other end of that thing, *I* would have warned you! Oh, and... Hola, SVK, and welcome to the Forums. Are you in Tel Aviv? I'm a very curious person, so I always read people's avatar info and ask nosy questions.
