I found these at a local thrift store today. Are they anything special?
Are they made of aluminum - or pot metal?
Are the names on each the person or the artist?
I am pretty sure larger one was a Russian leader, but who? And who is the young soldier?
    Any info would be appreciated!

Does it look like they may have been painted with silver paint, like something a previous owner might have done?

Lenin, I think, but would have to check.

Edit: No, wrong beard. Could be an anonymous officer to go with the anonymous youth. The name on the soldier strikes me as being that of the artist.
    Edit: Wrong again.

Could it be this man, Russian revolutionary Dzerzhinsky?

The larger one is "Klyu**kin" or Klyu**kim". Can't quite make out the middle letter/s

Figtree3 What would you do if you weren't afraid?

I think you may be right. A Google search on Dzerzhinsky metal bust brings up many that facially resemble him, including the clothing. Not sure if this search result will work in a link:

If it is him, that means the name on the back would be the company who made it. (EDIT: it is the sculptor's name, as April07 says in the next post.)

Yes, I think it is him looking at all the pics. @journeymagazine hasn’t come back about the identification as yet.

Thanks for the info, I hadn’t heard of Silumin, I know silicon is added to bronze to make it flow better when casting.

    That's it!
    Never heard of silumin either.
So is this a real sculpture made by him - instead of 1 of many made by machine?
Thank you all - you guys are as amazing as ever! :)

It could have been cast from his model any number of times. Depends on what you mean by 'real sculpture.'

    1. First one is Felix Dzerzhinsky (Феликс Дзержинский) was a Bolshevik revolutionary and official. Known as "Iron Felix'.
2.The small one is Alexander Matrosov ( Алекса́ндр Матросов)
was a Soviet soldier during the Second World War, awarded the title of the Hero of the Soviet Union for blocking a German machine-gun with his body.
