So my grandmother gave me this a long time ago and someone told me it was carved ivory but I have no idea... Could someone please give me some insight? Thanks in advance!

 

I believe it is ivory, as I can see the crosshatch grain on the bottom. It is a Japanese bride. Very nice! A real treasure.

Also, if those are two holes in the bottom, then this is a netsuke. Which is a Japanese toggle to hold a container on a belt.

 

It actually has two holes on the top by her head

Pics must be under 1 MB to be uploaded. If you look at "details" in the photo info, you can see how big the photo is. If you crop them slightly and save them, it will reduce the file size and then you can post them.
